Company Profile
Incorporated in Malaysia on 5th July 1983 as Syarikat Berkhidmat Berbakti Sdn Bhd, the company subsequently changed its name to NAGAI METAL TRADERS SDN BHD on 18th December 1985, inline with its Japanese origins.
We are the sole producer of zinc chloride in Malaysia, mainly for the carbon-zinc battery industry. Prominent carbon-zinc battery brands that use our product include Panasonic and GP Batteries.
1983
Syarikat Berkhidmat Berbakti Sdn Bhd was incorporated. The first factory was a rented premise, located in Tongkang Pechah, Batu Pahat.
1985
The Company was renamed to Nagai Metal Traders Sdn Bhd.
1996
The factory was relocated from its rented premise in Tongkang Pechah, to its own 4.25-acre premise in nearby Sri Medan. Production capacity was doubled to 360 metric tonne per month.
2005
The Company was ISO 14001 certified.
Uplifted the capabilities of the Quality Control (QC) Laboratory by investing in an Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS), the PerkinElmer AAnalyst 200.
2009
Upgraded the QC Laboratory further by investing in an Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES) spectrometer, the Shimadzu ICPE-9000.
2023
Replace both the AAS and ICP-AES spectrometers with the latest Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) spectrometer, the PerkinElmer Avio 220 Max.
